Having been in business continuously for over 100 years, Leon’s is one of the oldest retailers in Canada. This public company’s focus is on the sale of high quality home furniture, major appliances and electronics. Their retail stores range from 35,000 to 50,000 square feet, and their retail/warehouse stores average 75,000+ square feet. While the strength of their brand allows the stores to locate in developing suburban areas, they still require the typical retail fundamentals of high visibility, great access, good signage, and adequate customer parking. Provision for product pick-up by customers is a key element of any location, as is loading for product delivery. Major markets in British Columbia and the Western sector of Calgary are current high priority target markets. We are also evaluating distribution alternatives for the Western store network, with the ideal scenario being a combined Distribution Centre and retail store in an approved market area.
